A Word From Our Exalted Ruler Lina “Cloutier” Michaud

As we embark, upon the new “Elk” Year of 2020 – 2021, I want to pay tribute to the Officers and Committees for a phenomenal and successful year in 2019 – 2020. Under the leadership and direction of Tim Rodrigue, Exalted Ruler and his very lovely wife and first lady, Vicki, many great things happened within our lodge and community.

Although, we are unable to celebrate their successes, at this time, due to the Civil State of Emergency declared by Governor Janet Mills related to the spread of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (“COVID-19”), I, assure you, that we will do so, at a later date when the risk of community spread and the serious impacts to the health and safety of our membership, family, friends and public, has subsided.

I would like to extend my warm and sincere appreciation to the new Suite of Officers and Committees that have graciously stepped forward to serve in the year of 2020 – 2021. As Exalted Ruler, I will strive to be a beacon of hope and inspiration, as we navigate through these “unknown” waters and search for creative and innovative ways to encourage, support and be there for our membership and community. As Elks, we have a long history of service, dedication, commitment and have been known to move mountains, in times of need.

It is vital, that each member of Augusta Elks Lodge #964, joins hands in unity, showing the spirit of Elkdom and the promise of a new tomorrow. “Unity is strength … when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” Mattie Stepanek

If you have, yet, to pay your annual dues, please do so. These monies will help us in meeting some of our financial obligations, during this difficult time, under the new Executive “Stay Healthy at Home” Order and directive issued on March 31st, 2020 by Governor Mills, which also includes an extension of the closure of restaurants and bars, until at least April 30th, 2020.

Lorana Laliberte, our new House Committee Chair is working to set-up both House Committee and Lodge Meetings through Zoom Video Conferencing, so that we may continue to engage with each other, conduct lodge business and brainstorm. We encourage your input, suggestions and feedback. Our membership is 850+ STRONG, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of us, as we truly welcome your involvement and participation.

Stay Safe, Stay Well and know that we are just a phone call away, if you need a helping hand, a friendly voice or just someone to listen. Elks Care – Elks Share.
